Arashi Shibori Silk Scarf Silver and Purple 8"x52" 8"x52" Dark purple and silver in color. In Japan, the earliest known example of cloth dyed with a Shibori technique dates from the 8th century. Its applications include fashion, fine art and interior treatments. Shibori is a Japanese term for several methods of dyeing cloth with a pattern by binding, stitching, folding, twisting, compressing it, or capping. Each of my Shibori pieces is hand stitched, tied or clamped before dying one or more times to achieve finished results. Colors may be slightly different than computer image. Each piece is one of a kind but I can repeat a technique in a different color combination. Message me for more information. I use quality silk and cotton fabrics and the dyes used actually bond molecularly with the fabric which creates brilliant colors that do not fade with washing. Hand wash with a small bit of soap and line dry. Iron on wrong side if necessary. Care details will be included with piece. Thank you for visiting Designs by Alison.
